World Cleanup Day Poland!

The first official World Cleanup Day took place on September 15, 2018, engaging millions of people in over 150 countries. Since then, World Cleanup Day has become an annual event that mobilizes communities around the world to work together for a cleaner environment. Every year, on the third Saturday of September, millions of volunteers take to the streets, parks, beaches and forests to clean up our planet together. The aim of World Cleanup Day is not only to collect waste, but also to increase public awareness of the problem of littering and to promote responsible waste management.

The main assumption is to involve 5% of the population of each country in the fight against environmental pollution, thus realizing the vision of a more engaged, active and united society fighting the environmental crisis.

In Poland, Planet Heroes is responsible for celebrating World Cleanup Day – an organization whose mission is to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. We operate as the Polish partner of the global Let's do It movement. We inspire people to take care of our planet every day, but thanks to a joint effort in September, we manage to collect thousands of tons of waste that would otherwise pollute our environment. We work locally to develop clean-up campaigns for a world without waste, mobilizing people and organizations that defend proper waste management.

Planet Heroes is now Let's Do It World's global technology partner and the primary reporting tool for cleanup efforts around the world.

Let's Do It! Mission

The initiator of World Cleanup Day is the Let's Do It World organization, which has branches in each member country.

In 2020, Poland also joined the Let's Do It movement. Let's Do It Poland! is represented by the ecological platform and the Planet Heroes Foundation. For each movement, we coordinate the work of hundreds of thousands of volunteers throughout Poland who organize their cleaning campaigns throughout the country. During World Cleanup Day, we are joined by thousands of schools, municipalities, city halls and company employees.
